Enter your follower count and how many followers you gained in the last 30 days. The calculator works out your monthly growth rate and shows when you will reach your goal if you keep growing at the same pace.
The calculator needs three numbers: your followers today, your net gain over the last 30 days, and the follower count you want to reach. Net gain is new followers minus the people who unfollowed you in the same 30 days.
Your monthly growth rate is your 30-day gain divided by the followers you had 30 days ago. With 2,400 followers today and 180 gained, you started the month at 2,220. Your growth rate is 180 ÷ 2,220, which is 8.1% a month.
The results show two projections. The steady line assumes you gain the same number of followers every month. The second line assumes your growth rate stays the same, so you gain a little more each month than the month before.
Plan with the steady line. Most accounts gain about the same number of followers each month until something changes, such as a Reel that reaches far more people than usual or a new way of finding followers.
Treat the second line as the best case. A growth rate is easier to hold while an account is small. At 8% a month, an account with 1,000 followers needs 80 new followers. The same rate at 50,000 followers needs 4,000 new followers every month.
Instagram shows follower growth to professional accounts. Switching a personal account to a creator or business account is free and takes a minute in Settings.
If you would rather keep a personal account, write down your follower count today and again in 30 days. The difference is your net gain. Our guide to tracking your Instagram followers covers the other ways to do it.
The steady line only rises when you gain more followers each month. These habits make the biggest difference for most accounts.
If you want help with the outreach, Sup Growth does it for you. A person on our team engages with accounts in your niche and area from your account, and new followers get a welcome message. Clients typically gain 300 to 800 real followers a month, and the first 14 days are free.

Divide the followers you gained in a period by the followers you had at the start of it, then multiply by 100. If you went from 2,220 to 2,400 followers in 30 days, your monthly growth rate is 180 ÷ 2,220 × 100, which is 8.1%.
It depends on how many followers you gain each month. At 200 a month, going from 2,000 to 10,000 followers takes 40 months. At 800 a month it takes 10 months. Enter your own numbers in the calculator to see your date.
There is no single good number, because the rate depends on the size of the account. A new account can grow 20% in a month from a few Reels that do well, while a large account growing 2% a month adds thousands of people. The most useful comparison is with your own past months. If your monthly gain is rising, what you are doing is working.
Some unfollows are normal. People tidy up the accounts they follow, and Instagram removes accounts it finds to be fake. Look at your net gain over a whole month rather than a single day, and check whether a drop lines up with a change in what you posted.
They raise the number but not your reach. Bought followers do not like or comment, so your engagement rate falls and Instagram shows your posts to fewer people. Growth that lasts comes from real people who want to see what you post.
