Pick your niche and see the hashtags real creators in it use most, from a year of public Instagram posts. Choose your 5 and copy them in one tap.
Tap hashtags to choose up to 5. Instagram uses only 5 hashtags a post, so pick one or two broad tags and a few specific ones.
Your 5:
Our sister company Sup tracks public Instagram posts from 106,433 creators across 44 niches. We took every hashtag from their captions over the last 12 months (6 months for Fashion & Style) and counted how many different creators in each niche used it. The list you see is ranked by that count, so a tag near the top is one that many creators in your niche rely on, not one a single account repeated.
We left out tags that say nothing about a post, such as #fyp, #viral, #explore and #reels, and disclosure tags such as #ad and #gifted.
Since December 2025, Instagram uses only 5 hashtags per post or Reel and ignores the rest. That makes each choice count.
A good post with no hashtags will still do better than a weak post with perfect ones. Hashtags help Instagram understand your topic. Your hook, your Reels and your engagement decide how far a post goes. Our Instagram audit checks those too, and our line break generator counts your hashtags as you write.
If you would like a team to do the growth work for you, that is what Sup Growth does. A person on our team engages by hand with real people in your niche and area, from your account, and new followers get a welcome message. Clients typically gain 300 to 800 real followers a month, and the first 14 days are free.

Mix them. One or two broad tags tell Instagram your topic, and more specific tags put you in front of people looking for exactly what you post.
They help Instagram understand what a post is about, which can put it in front of people interested in that topic. They matter less than the post itself.
Because creators in that niche tag them often. Only use a brand hashtag when the post is about that brand.
